Sophis, a provider of cross-asset, front-to-back portfolio and risk management solutions, has risen from joint eighth to fourth place in the annual IBS Sales League Table. The Top Five placement of Sophis follows its appointment by 26 new clients in 2009, bringing the total number of clients worldwide to over 130.

For the first time in Sophis history, two thirds of new sales were made outside of Sophis traditional markets in Europe, reinforcing its position as an international software vendor. A fifth of new deals were made in countries within new territories for Sophis, including China, Brazil, Morocco and Australia.

Sophis also increased its investment in R&D during 2009, despite difficult market conditions. Following close collaboration and discussion with its clients, it devoted 60% of its R&D efforts into new features and functionality for its RISQUE, VALUE and iSophis platforms.

Our promotion to fourth place from eighth in the IBS Sales League Table is testament to the hard work undertaken by our people and the close working relationship we have with our clients, says Pascal Xatart, CEO, Sophis. Our previously stated strategy to grow internationally and to maintain our investment in R&D despite market conditions has paid off, and we are particularly pleased to have developed our software platforms in line with our understanding of customer needs and requirements this has directly driven sales in new territories as well as within our more traditional markets in Europe.
