Sophis, a provider of cross-asset, front-to-back portfolio and risk management solutions, announced that Jean-Sbastien Py has taken on the role of General Manager for South Asia. Py joined Sophis in 2004 and played a pivotal role in building the Sophis team and client base in Hong Kong.
Moving rapidly through the ranks from Front Office Consultant to Senior Business Consultant, before heading up the Business Consulting team for Asia, Jean-Sbastien is now based in Singapore and has full responsibility for all activity in the region.
Jean-Sbastien is a graduate of LEcole Polytechnique, Frances foremost scientific school, where he studied engineering and specialised in mathematics and physics. He continued his academic studies at the cole Polytechnique de Montral where he obtained an M.Sc.A in electronic engineering. His academic background provided a strong foundation for his career at Sophis which has included leading the successful implementation of Sophis RISQUE at Standard Chartered Bank.
Jean-Sbastiens objective is to build Sophis presence in South Asia to deliver best practice in terms of consulting, support and implementations for new and existing clients. In addition he will be looking to leverage Sophis recent success in Australia and Singapore as well as exploring new markets such as India and Vietnam.
Asia is a large and varied region that offers a multitude of opportunities for Sophis. By expanding our footprint in South Asia we will be able to deliver service excellence to our clients from our Singapore hub, and create a strong and trusted brand that will enable us toleverage new opportunities and gain a foothold in new markets, says Jean-Sbastien Py.
