Socit Gnrale Corporate & Investment Banking is bringing together the origination and structuring activities of its debt and equity capital markets business into a unified “Global Capital Markets” structure within the Capital Raising and Financing division.
The creation of Global Capital Markets is designed to better serve the bank’s clients and boost its development in key areas by reinforcing commercial synergies and leveraging the bank’s financial engineering and execution skills.
The new business line will be headed by Jean-Marc Giraud, previously Head of Strategic & Acquisition Finance, seconded by Jean-Claude Petard, who will also retain his current position as Head of the Sovereign and Public Sector Market Segment. Jean-Marc will report to Jean-Luc Parer, Jean-Francois Mazaud and Pierre Palmieri who head up Capital Raising and Financing.
The Global Capital Markets group will include:
DCM which will be co-headed by Demetrio Salorio, previously Deputy Head of DCM and Pierre Mirat, previously Head of the Financial Institutions Market Segment for Europe.
ECM which will be headed by Laurent Morel, previously Head of DCM Corporates origination.
Strategic Equity Transactions, a business operated together with the Global Equity & Derivatives Solutions division, which will be headed by Olivier Buttier, previously ECM originator. Olivier will report jointly to Jean-Marc Giraud and Philippe Parmenon, Head of the corporate equity derivatives business.
Financial Engineering, which includes equity-linked origination, liability management and hybrids products, will be headed by Sidney Studnia, previously Deputy Head of Sovereign and Public Sector Market Segment.
Structuring and Execution will continue to be headed by Florence Greau.
