Societe Generale Appoints New Head of Global Transaction Banking

Christian Behaghel has been appointed head of Global Transaction Banking and deputy head of Global Transaction & Payment Services at Societe Generale. The appointment takes effect from May 2.

Christian Behaghel has been appointed head of Global Transaction Banking and deputy head of Global Transaction & Payment Services at Societe Generale. The appointment takes effect from May 2.

Behaghel will report to Pascal Augé, head of Global Transaction & Payment Services.

Most recently Behaghel was global head of Large Corporate clients for Retail Banking in France. Previously he has held various roles in the Corporate & Investment Banking, Financial Engineering and Large Corporates division at Societe Generale since joining the firm in 1976.

In his new role, Behaghel will be responsible for driving Societe Generale GTB’s development strategy, supporting corporate and financial institutions in the management of their global relationships.

He will have direct supervisory responsibilities for Societe Generale GTB’s four main business lines, including corporate cash management, cash clearing/correspondent banking, international trade financing services and factoring.
