SmartStream Strengthens Corporate Actions Team With Jeremy O'Dwyer

SmartStream Technologies announced today the appointment of Jeremy O’Dwyer to its UK Corporate Actions team in London.

O’Dwyer has been appointed to this newly created position to leverage SmartStream’s recent acquisition of Effective Solutions Inc and to drive TLM Corporate Actions business development. He brings more than 20 years of in-depth experience of the financial services marketplace from both the client and consultancy side.

O’Dwyer will report to Mark Cappell, SmartStream’s European Regional Director. Of his appointment, Cappell said: “We are very pleased to be able to welcome Jeremy on board. Our recent acquisition has built on our existing Corporate Actions offering and now delivers the market leading solution for both Corporate Actions processing and the wider arena of Asset Servicing. The addition of Jeremy to the sales team will enable us to take advantage of the huge potential in this market.”

O’Dwyer’s career began in the IT department of Banque Nationale de Paris (now BNP Paribas), which was followed by 10 years at Flemings (now part of JP Morgan), where he was responsible for delivering a wide range of technology solutions across the front, middle and back office. For the past seven years, O’Dwyer has worked for the consulting arms of Oracle, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and most recently IBM. In each of these companies he was responsible for delivering consulting solutions on a global basis to some of the world’s foremost financial institutions.

O’Dwyer will work alongside Paul Phillips, Business Analyst. Phillips joined SmartStream in August 2002 from ABN Amro, where he was Corporate Actions Manager. In total, Phillips has over eight years financial markets experience. Phillips’ indepth knowledge of Corporate Actions processing, fully equips him to advise SmartStream’s customers on how to achieve optimal operational efficiency through automation.
