AXA Investment Managers UK (AXA IM) has appointed Simon Cartwright from Fidelity International Limited as Head of Global Consultant Relationships.
Martin Hall, who joined AXA IM as Head of AXA IM UK and Scandinavia in June 2007, commenced a strategic review upon his arrival. As a result of this review AXA IM UK will reshape its institutional business, creating three pillars of consultant relations, business development and client services. The new structure will be implemented from January 2008.
The new, threefold structure will be headed by: Consultant relationships: Simon Cartwright – head of global consultant relationships; David Townsend – head of UK institutional sales client services; Mark Yeates head of UK institutional client relations. David Townsend and Mark Yeates have been appointed from within AXA IM while Simon Cartwright is a new appointment.
“The appointment of Simon Cartwright and the reshaping of the business will give a focus and renewed momentum to our UK institutional business,” says Hall.
Cartright, who has over 15 years experience in client facing roles as well as portfolio management, joins from Fidelity International Limited where he was consultant relationship director. He will commence his new role on 7 January 2008. Prior to this Cartright was business development director at Insight Investment Management Limited and previously worked for AIB Govett Asset Management Limited and Mercury Asset Management.
