Copenhagen-based fund administration applications provider SimCorp has added three new members to its Singapore staff, bringing the total headcount in the city state to ten.

The new recruits join SimCorp’s professional services team, which is responsible for the implementation and support of SimCorp Dimension, its software system for investment management.

The Singapore office supports all of SimCorp’s activities in South East Asia and the appointments are in direct response to the company’s growth in the region.

SimCorp counts the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Deutsche Bank Asia among its clients in the region. The company says the increasing demand for its technology reflects growth in funds under management in the region, and the efforts of investment managers to handle the operational complexities associated with new financial instruments and products, as well as ever-changing compliance and regulation.

Per Bjoedstrup joins as Professional Services Manager, Singapore, reporting to Peter Hill, Managing Director, SimCorp Asia. Bjoedstrup brings over 12 years’ industry experience to the role, including eight years with SimCorp. Most recently he held the position of Head of Projects and IT Management with Danske Capital (part of Danske Bank), one the largest Nordic investment managers. During his time with SimCorp, Bjoedstrup was Head of Implementation for SimCorp Ltd in London. He has also managed a number of projects for SimCorp clients in the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway. As Professional Services Manager, Bjoedstrup will manage a team of nine consultants, including new hires Jonathan Goh and Mikkel Andersen.

A Singaporean national, Jonathan Goh joins SimCorp as Business Consultant from Prudential Asset Management, where he managed the roll-out of a new investment management system across Asia. Prior to joining Prudential, Goh was Senior Consultant with DST International, a provider of asset management and workflow solutions.

Mikkel Andersen, Senior Business Consultant, joins SimCorp from WM Data (part of LogicaCMG). He has over eight years’ consultancy experience and spent seven years working for SimCorp in Denmark and Sweden. During this time he managed system roll-outs for some of the world’s largest fund managers including Danish government fund ATP, Swedbank Robur, Skandia Asset Management and Folksam.

“We are delighted to have Per, Jonathan and Mikkel on board,” says Peter Hill, Managing Director, SimCorp Asia. “With their extensive industry experience they will be a real asset to our Singapore office and clients. A key selling point of SimCorp Dimension is its ability to support both regional and global business in a single system, catering to the differing accounting, regulation and compliance requirements across the region. We need this breadth of experience in our people too. Accordingly, by combining expatriate and local hires we have been able to complement in-depth knowledge of the investment management industry and SimCorp technology with local market understanding, which is imperative if we are to service our clients effectively. I look forward to announcing more new hires in 2007 as SimCorp Asia continues to go from strength to strength.”
