Time Ryan, president of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association told The Financial Times that the U.S. government’s plan to buy toxic assets needs to go ahead immediately despite the Obama transition.

“I do not think we can put this on hold for two months,” Ryan says. “We would not put foreign policy on hold for months during the transition.”
