The Securities Industry Association has named Christina Martin senior vice president for corporate communications. Martin will be responsible for directing SIA media relations and communications strategy. She will serve on the association’s management committee and report to SIA President Marc E. Lackritz.

“Christina has a stellar background in communications, politics, and public policy,” says Lackritz. “She has a sterling reputation among everyone she has worked with over her career. I am confident she will bring exceedingly high intelligence, focus, energy, and enthusiasm to SIA.”

Martin comes to SIA from the communications firm Powell Tate Weber Shandwick where she was executive vice president. From 1999-2004 Martin served as the senior vice president of public affairs and communications for the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA). Her previous professional experience was in the political arena. She is the veteran of three presidential campaigns, served as Press Secretary to Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, and worked in the White House Office of Speechwriting for President George H.W. Bush.

Martin, 38, has a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Kansas.
