Shortlists for Global Custodian’s Leaders in Custody 2021 announced

Winners of the annual awards to be revealed during Leaders in Custody Week 2021 through a series of on-demand digital features.

Global Custodian is pleased to announce the shortlists for its Leaders in Custody Awards 2021, recognising outstanding achievement across our Agent Banks surveys along with Editors’ Choice, Innovation and ETF Administration.

The winners of these awards will be announced during Global Custodian’s inaugural Leaders in Custody Week, where five days of digital features and content will be available on-demand for our readers.

As always, the top performers from Global Custodian’s Agent Banks surveys will be honoured across major and emerging markets categories for their asset servicing and risk management scores and capabilities.
 

In addition, those who received consistently high scores across all categories will be recognised through our Outstanding Performance awards.

This year we’re pleased to be awarding the best performers from our ETF Administration survey which debuted with great success in 2020. Categories will include technology, reporting, basket services, innovation, servicing model and ETF Administrator of the Year.

The Editors’ Choice section of the awards consists of our ever-present Global Custodian of the Year, Asset Servicing Deal of the Year, Best New Asset Servicing Project and Best Innovation in Market Infrastructure. Meanwhile new awards this year include Best New Asset Servicing Partnership of the Year and Front-to-Back Project of the Year. 

Individual awards for Lifetime Achievement and nominees for Industry Person of the Year will be announced in the near future.

Leading the way with nominations this year is BNP Paribas Securities Services with nine, JP Morgan with eight and BNY Mellon with six.

Our agent banks surveys saw some incredibly high scores this year, and the likes of DBS, Mizuho and Societe Generale earned multiple nominations, along with a strong performing Middle East and Africa segment with Deutsche Bank, FAB, Nedbank and QNB Alahli earning spots on the shortlist. 

The Global Custodian of the Year award will be fought out between BNY MellonHSBCJP Morgan and State Street, meanwhile the timely Front-to-Back Project of the Year will see a winner from BNY Mellon Omni, Northern Trust’s Whole Office, SS&C Eze and State Street Alpha.
