The shareholders of Slovakian banks HVB and UniBanka have approved the merger of the two local banks.
The merger decision was taken at the general meetings of both banks which took place on Feb. 20th.
It was decided that the legal merger will be effected on April 1st, 2007.
The merged bank will be called “UniCredit Bank Slovakia a.s.” and will operate under this name starting on April 2nd, 2007.
UniCredit Bank Slovakia will have 93 branches in total, its Head Office will be located at Šancova street 1/A in Bratislava.
