Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) has been appointed the sub-custodian bank in South Africa by Nomura, the latest move as the country is increasingly becoming the gateway for asset managers to access the continent.
Africa is currently undergoing rapid growth, and the Paris-based custodian is seeking to boost its position in the region’s securities services.
SGSS has been stationed in the country for 20 years providing clearing and settlement services, but now with the mandate it now covers both global and local custody in the country.
