Société Générale Securities Services (SGSS) has appointed Pascal Jacquemin as CEO and country head for SGSS in Germany, replacing Frédéric Barroyer, who will remain within SGSS.

For his new role, Jacquemin is based in Munich and reports to Bruno Prigent, global head of SGSS. Jacquemin will be responsible for overseeing the development of SGSS’ securities services offerings in Germany.

Jacquemin has been with SGSS since the start of his career in 1998. He has implemented a custody system in Paris and New York and coordinated SGSS’ international business units in Greece, South Africa, Poland, Spain and Ireland. In 2004, he was appointed head of operations at Geniki Bank, a former Société Générale subsidiary, in Greece. In 2008, he was appointed executive director and head of operations for SGSS in Mumbai, where he coordinated SGSS’ joint venture for custody and fund administration services with the State Bank of India. Most recently, in 2010, he was appointed deputy head of the international department for SGSS, based in Paris.

“Germany is a strategic country for the development of SGSS. With his extensive experience in the securities services industry, Pascal Jacquemin will play an important role in leading our business development efforts in the country,” says Prigent. “We plan to progressively develop and extend our securities services offering in Germany and initiatives will include investing in market-driven value-added services for our clients and further developing the custody arm of our fully integrated pan-European platform.”
