SG Private Banking, the private banking arm of Socit Gnrale, has hired industry expert Xavier Denis as economist and strategist to help define the bank’s investment strategy during the turndown, the Wealth Bulletin reports.
Denis joins the investment team headed by Herv Plista, SG Private Bankings global chief investment officer.
Denis will help determine the economic scenario used to define SG Private Bankings investment strategy, working with Socit Gnrale asset managements strategy and economic research department headed by Michala Marcussen.
Denis began his career as an economist with the Banque de France, where, in particular, he was in charge of macroeconomic forecasting, monetary policy research and monitoring emerging market economies.
From 2002 to 2005, he was adviser to the minister for small and medium-sized enterprises.
From 2005 to 2007, he worked as an economist at the French embassy in Shanghai.
