OneChicago says that 296,737 security futures contracts traded at the Exchange in September, which is 20% higher than September 2003 volume and is the third highest volume month at OneChicago.
Year-to-date volume is 1,469,735 contracts, 30% greater than 2003 volume through September. Open interest stood at 143,061 contracts as of September 30.
The top five security futures products by volume in September were: SBC Communications Inc. (SBC1C) Schering-Plough Corp. (SGP1C) Eastman Kodak (EK1C) Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ1C) General Electric Co. (GE1C) The Exchange has a total of 133 products: 118 single stock futures, including futures on the DIAMONDS Trust, and 15 futures on the Dow Jones MicroSector IndexesSM.
