SEI said it foresees Ireland continuing to play a pivotal role in the growth of the global funds services market.

Speaking at an event in Dublin to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the company’s establishment in Dublin, Mr. Steve Meyer, head of SEI’s Investment Manager Services business, said: “As investment managers are achieving a global presence and products like alternative investments are becoming more institutionalized, we see managers and investors increasingly looking for a regulated, secure and stable place in which to conduct business. Ireland has established itself as just such a jurisdiction to the extent that both investment managers and their services partners now regard it as the gateway to the European funds world.”

Mr. Meyer went on to commend the Irish government for its role in enabling Ireland to thrive as a leading servicing centre in the funds management and administration sector. He said: “The mix of the Government’s business approach and regulation structure, allied to a well-educated workforce, is a powerful formula that will be hard to beat in the years ahead.

“We made an educated management decision to locate our offshore business in Dublin 10 years ago and it has proven to be the right decision. As we look to the future here, we remain committed to providing managers with quality day-to-day service, as well as arming them with the expertise, processes and technology to quickly identify and adapt to the changing market,” Mr. Meyer concluded.
