SEI Investments today introduced e.Boardroom, a new solution for the e-administration of mutual fund board materials. e.Boardroom was unveiled at the General Membership Meeting of the Investment Company Institute in Washington D.C.
e.Boardroom is an Internet-based solution which enables electronic creation and sharing of all materials and information necessary to prepare for and conduct mutual fund board meetings. With e.Boardroom, mutual fund board meetings participants – directors, fund counsel, auditors, investment managers, and administrative staff – can compile, review, edit and distribute board materials in a virtual environment.
“We have leveraged SEI’s technology heritage, the Internet and SEI’s legal expertise to redefine how mutual fund board meetings can be organized and conducted. e.Boardroom improves the quality of the board meeting materials and greatly simplifies the efforts needed to create them,” said Wayne Withrow, Executive Vice President, SEI.
“Anyone involved with mutual fund board meetings understands the large administrative task of preparing for the meeting,” said Michael Dwyer, Senior Vice President, SEI. “e.Boardroom allows board members to have flexibility in how they receive and review board materials, whether via the Internet, CD-ROM or in print, while the board materials are built in a real-time environment. e.Boardroom is another step in what we see as the ‘e-transformation’ of the industry. The implementation of e.Boardroom also demonstrates the innovation and client focus of SEI’s industry-leading Legal Department.”
Successful e.Boardroom beta tests during the past year with SEI’s mutual funds’ boards revolutionized the SEI Funds board meetings.
“e.Boardroom provides an efficient means to review and organize materials, especially notations and follow-up questions. As a member of the SEI Funds board, I can do a better job because the materials are easy to access and I am able to research and cross-reference the data that I need. Physical files have been nearly eliminated because with e.Boardroom historical data is completely indexed. Online access to annual reports, prospectuses and other reports is a great time and space saver,” said George Sullivan, Member of the Board of Directors, SEI Funds.
