Global Custodian has announced the full speaker line-up for its discussion forum in London on 16 May.

Widely renowned leaders in securities services and buy-side roles will gather for a full-day conference at Banking Hall in London to discuss the pressing issues facing the industry, including servicing cryptocurrencies and other new asset classes, artificial intelligence and recruitment.

The focal point of the first two panels will be evolving client needs and demands, with representatives from hedge funds, asset managers, custodians, consultancies, depositories and fund administrators all weighing in.

The first panel will feature participants from the hedge fund and asset management world, discussing with Penny Biggs, Northern Trust’s chief strategy officer, and SIX’s Brendon Bambury, head of post-trade sales, UK & Nordics, to see how custodians and outsourcing providers have changed their services to meet new operating models at the client level.

This will be followed by a session focusing on the new range of rising asset classes such as ETFs, cryptocurrencies, and private equity, that clients are turning to achieve growth, and how custodians and fund administrators will have to adapt.

Moderator Anthony Kirby, EY’s director for regulatory reform and risk management, will be joined by David Bailey, group head of marketing at Augentius, Tom Digby, head of client trading coverage for Invesco Powershares, Brian McMahon, managing director for BNY Mellon’s AIS business development, and Bill Prew, founder and CEO for INDOS Financial.

The second half of the day will look more internally at securities services firms as panelists analyse the adoption of new technologies, such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing, as well as looking at the best ways to recruit new talent and retain the best and brightest staff.

The day will finish off with a panel of the leading custodian voices highlighting upcoming regulations and how they are impacting the strategies of securities services firms. Speakers include Alex Dockx, executive director for JP Morgan, Wendy Phillis, managing director of, governance and regulatory solutions Europe & Asia-Pacific at RBC Investor & Treasury Services, and Sean Tuffy, head of market and regulatory intelligence, EMEA, custody & fund services, at Citi.
