KDPW, the Polish CSD, saw the number of securities accounts cross the 1.5 million mark in January.
As investors became more active, more than 5,3 thousand new investment accounts were opened by brokers, said the CSD. Bank and broker participants of the National Depository for Securities operated a total of 1,505,000 accounts at the end of January.
In terms of the total number of operated accounts at the end of January 2012, the leader was Dom Inwestycyjny BRE Banku with 294,972 accounts followed by Dom Maklerski Pekao with 190,585 accounts and Centralny Dom Maklerski Pekao with 184,496 accounts.
