The London-based training body, the Securities & Investment Institute (SII) has appointed John Rogers as its first International Development Director. The Institute says his appointment” reflects SII’s expansion internationally.”

Rogers spent four years as Chief Executive with the UK Society of Investment Professionals (UKSIP). Previously at the National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF),he built up its investment service for pension funds and established and developed its corporate governance profile. His early career was spent at the Bank of England.

“We are delighted to have John join us at this particularly exciting time in the Institute’s development,” says SII chief executive Simon Culhane. “His experience in the international arena will be invaluable as the Institute moves into new overseas markets whose financial service industries are keen to adopt our qualifications, membership, ethics and integrity model.”

Rogers says SII has presented himm with “a great opportunity to promote the UK’s high professional standards internationally and to further strengthen SII’s international profile.”
