Alternatives fund administrator SANNE Group has opened a new office in Tokyo, and hired a former State Street executive as country head for its Japanese business.

The new office expands SANNE’s Asia-Pacific (APAC) network and provides new capabilities and scope to the services the administrator offers to clients.

Mark Bennett has been appointed to lead the business, after serving over four years at State Street in a number of senior roles for its Japanese business. These include COO for the Japanese Trust Bank and APAC head of offshore asset servicing.

“We are delighted to establish a new presence in an exciting market like Japan. This is in direct response to client demand and will serve to further add to our already well-established Asian office network and market expertise,” said Mark Law, managing director,  APAC and Mauritius.

“Our new office will be key to servicing our global and local institutional asset management client base.”

SANNE’s Tokyo office will be operational from the start of 2019 and will initially focus on servicing existing real estate clients in the region, while continuing to offer core alternative asset manager services.
