Russell Mellon says that Evli Asset Management has decided to use AMI to market its services to a global audience. Evli is the first asset manager in Finland to sign up to the AMI database.

Commenting on this decision, Evli Research Director, Timo Penttil said: “Being the first Finnish manager to sign up to AMI has to be good for our business. At the moment the Finnish investment market is very domestically orientated. AMI has an audience of investment consultants with global influence. It is the ideal platform for us to raise our profile outside our home market. We are very excited with the opportunities and will be adding equity products such as our Baltic Equity fund into database”

Russell/Mellon Chief Executive Officer Mick Brant added: “We have been spreading the word about AMI in mainland Europe and an increasing number of asset managers are signing up. This gives consultants quick and easy access to information they would otherwise have to dedicate valuable resources to researching.”

AMI is an internet database containing the core company and product information that consultants need for searching and selecting providers of institutional investment services. By participating in AMI, asset managers can promote their products and services to a wide audience of consultants. Asset managers decide which investment products they wish to include and can update AMI online, as necessary.

Currently 114 asset managers and seven multi-managers use AMI to distribute product information. AMI holds data on some 6,600 products, which is accessed by 35 consultancy firms worldwide.

Based in Finland, Evli Asset Management is a branch of Evli Bank Plc, a privately owned investment services company founded in 1985. The operations of the Evli Group can be divided into three main business branches: Asset Management, Capital Markets and Corporate Finance.
