On 28 May, the general shareholders meeting of the Romanian Central Depository (CSD) decided on amending the current fees applicable to participants in the clearing, settlement and registry system, as well as to issuers and to investors.
The decisions taken have two major impacts:
– Reduction of settlement fee of the CSD and- Introduction of penalty fees for late settlement instructions
Among the reviewed fees there is the settlement fee, which was introduced first in April 2007 when the CSD started the clearing and settlement activities. It was decided now to reduce this fee by 23 percent — for instance, from 0.011 percent to 0.0085 percent.
