Robert Scharfe has taken over as CEO of Global Markets world-wide at Fortis Bank from 9 September. He succeeds Ren Myncke, who has decided to pursue his career outside Fortis.
A Luxembourg national, Scharfe holds a Master’s in Economics (University of Nancy, France), and has been with Fortis since 1977. He started his career at Banque Gnrale du Luxembourg and has more than 25 years of experience in international markets and finance. He currently heads the Institutional Banking and Funds division within Merchant Banking. He is also a member of the Management Board of BGL, in charge of the Merchant Banking activities in Luxembourg.
