Ritchie Technology & Life Science Finance, a division of Ritchie Capital Finance, announced that it has recently closed $2.25 million in debt financing to BridgeWave Communications, a leading supplier of gigabit wireless solutions for enterprise and carrier applications.

“After reviewing BridgeWave’s financial objectives, the Ritchie Technology & Life Science Finance team produced the best financing solution to meet our growing needs,” said Amir Makleff, CEO of BridgeWave Communications. “We appreciate all their efforts and look forward to a fruitful relationship.” BridgeWave supplies gigabit speed wireless communications links that provide an alternative to installing fiber cabling to interconnect LANs between buildings, to connect buildings to network operator fiber backbones, and to extend operator fiber networks. BridgeWave was incorporated in 1999, is located in Santa Clara, CA and has 50 employees.

BridgeWave’s products take advantage of the massive radio spectrum allocations made available by the FCC in the U.S. and other regulators worldwide. In the U.S., 20 GHz of spectrum has been reserved above 50 GHz to enable very high speed wireless virtual fiber connectivity. BridgeWave offers products both in the license-free 60 GHz band as well as the lightly licensed 80 GHz E Band range. BridgeWave provides users with 1,000 Mbps wireless links at existing market price points for 100 Mbps wireless links that operate in lower frequency bands. This enables users to upgrade to gigabit speed wireless connectivity to match performance levels of today’s gigabit Ethernet wired LANs.

“BridgeWave’s products provide value by allowing gigabit network connections to be installed in places where fiber installation is too costly or is subject to construction delays,” said Gail Fitzpatrick, Managing Director of Ritchie Technology & Life Science Finance. “Ritchie is pleased to support BridgeWave’s production ramp to meet the growing demands for high speed wireless connectivity.”
