Ritchie Capital Finance, a division of Ritchie Capital, a diversified alternative asset management firm established in 1998, announced that Gail Fitzpatrick, Farhaan Hassan, and Cindy Young have joined the Technology and Life Sciences Finance group as managing directors.

Fitzpatrick and Hassan will be responsible for originating and structuring debt transactions to venture capital backed companies. Young will be assigned to the group’s risk function, responsible for analyzing and underwriting new investment opportunities.

“Having worked as part of our team for many years at other institutions, Gail, Farhaan and Cindy will enable us to ramp up very quickly and efficiently as we build the finance business,” said Bill DeMars, senior managing director, Technology and Life Sciences Finance for Ritchie Capital Finance.

Most recently, Fitzpatrick has been a senior vice president for GE Technology Lending since October 2001 and was with Heller Venture Finance from May 2000. Prior to joining Heller Financial, Fitzpatrick held management and business development positions with Sanwa Business Credit, LINC Capital and Continental Bank’s Equipment Leasing Group. She received her BA degree from Rosary College (now Dominican University).

Hassan joins Ritchie Capital Finance from GE Capital Technology Lending where, as an investment officer, he focused on establishing and maintaining relationships with technology and life science firms across North America and Europe. Prior to GE Capital, Hassan focused on risk assessment with the Heller Venture Finance Group. He holds a BA from Knox College and an MBA from DePaul University.

Young has been a vice president for GE Technology Lending since October 2001 and was with Heller Venture Finance since September 2000. Upon joining Heller in May 1996, Young worked in their Chicago office as an account executive in Corporate Asset Quality and as a risk manager in Corporate Credit. Cindy has a BS in Accountancy from the University of Illinois and is a CPA.
