Lehman Brothers, the global investment bank, has hired Riccardo Banchetti in a newly created role as chief executive officer for Italy.
Banchetti will assume full responsibility for the Firm’s activities in Italy and will report to Roger Nagioff, chief operating officer for Europe. For the past four years, Banchetti has been head of European Fixed Income Sales and, for the last year, chief operating officer for Italy.
Banchetti joined Lehman Brothers in 1993 in interest rate derivatives, and has held a variety of positions since then, including head of Interest Rate Derivative Sales, and head of Fixed Income Sales for Italy. He will remain a member of the European Executive Committee in his new role.
“With his commitment to client service, innovation and product development, Riccardo has already achieved significant success for the Firm, helping to grow our Italian businesses,” says Nagioff. “His 15 years’ experience in the industry will be invaluable in managing the further expansion of the Firm’s Italian businesses. We are very pleased to have someone of Dave’s calibre to replace Riccardo as head of European Fixed Income Sales. Dave has made an outstanding contribution to the Global Equity Division during his 14 years with the Firm. His extensive experience in derivatives, knowledge of the European marketplace and decisive leadership skills make him ideally suited for his new role to deliver world class solutions to clients.”
