Rhyme Systems says Prudential-owned UK fund manager M&G Investment Management has upgraded its software contract for Quasar, including a database upgrade to Cache.

“The complexity of the upgrade was made simple by the professional manner of Rhyme’s planning and approach,” says Dave Edwards, head of support at M&G. “Our ability to work very closely together with this vendor was fundamental to this success. We undertook this major change with no impacton the existing business. The 150 or so business users in M&G have already benefited from the improved system performance and flexibility.”

Paul Bebber, sales manager, Rhyme Systems, says the firm held workshops with the technical staff at M & G to ensure the upgrade was fully exploited. “The new version greatly aids the ease of administration through the power of theuser interface and the ability to simply manipulate data and systems,” he says. “M&G has also benefited from a nine-fold improvement in system performance and throughput. Given Quasar’s market leading position in this area, this change is significant. Quasar continues to deliver world-class performance to a key customer.”

Other fund managers that use Quasar include Jupiter, Newton, Rathbone and Coutts.
