The CIBC subsidiary Renaissance Investment has launched the Global Infrastructure Fund, betting on governments worldwide spending more on infrastructure in the coming decade.
“Global infrastructure funds appeal to investors who want defensiveinvestments to generate stable long-term cash flow, especially throughoutretirement,” says Steve Geist, President of CIBC Asset Management. “Wherethere is a long-term need for investment, high returns can be sustainable andsince the beginning of the decade, global infrastructure portfolios haveconsistently outpaced global equities indexes.”
