Regulators are increasingly looking to the oil futures and OTC market as oil prices reach record highs, but the market is difficult to regulate because its size is unknown and it lacks transparency, according to The Gulf Times.
“I believe there is a loophole here because no one looks at it,” says Chris Cook, an energy market consultant. “And there is no transparency in the market.”
