The Royal Bank of Scotland International (RBS International) is expanding its corporate banking presence in Gibraltar.
RBS Gibraltar and RBS International have been granted a licence to offer Global Custody services in Gibraltar.
“The significant steps taken by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission to introduce regulatory reforms coupled with Gibraltar’s growing reputation in the international market, its pragmatic approach and excellent reputation, make Gibraltar an ideal alternative jurisdiction to other European Funds Centres,” says Marvin Cartwright, Head of Corporate and Financial Institutions at RBS International in Gibraltar.
“We are delighted to be strengthening our capabilities in the local marketplace at this time and we are confident that the expansion of RBS International’s Corporate Markets service will further complement and boost Gibraltar’s offering as an international funds centre,” he continues.
“This is further evidence of the continued confidence and growth of Gibraltar as a European hub for Financial Services,” says Daniel Feetham, a partner in Hassans International Law Firm.
“It is particularly pleasing for an organisation of the size and quality of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group, with the experience they will bring in the area of funds, to show their confidence in Gibraltar as a jurisdiction in which to do business.”
