RBC Wealth Management, part of Royal Bank of Canada announced the hire of Tracy Maeter as Head of Investments, British Isles. Ms Maeter will be based in London and will be responsible for oversight of RBC Wealth Managements discretionary and advisory investments platforms in the British Isles.
Maeter joins RBC from HSBC in London, where she was Head of Investors. During her 5-year tenure there, she also held the positions of Team Head, Sales Management and Team Head, High Net Worth. Ms Maeter has also held positions at JP Morgan and a number of consulting firms.
Commenting on the hire, Paul Patterson, Head of RBC Wealth Management, British Isles, said: The appointment of a Head of Investments to our British Isles operation will strengthen our investments platform, which forms part of our integrated wealth management offering for High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth clients. Tracy will work closely with our relationship managers ensuring that clients receive competitive and sound investment advice. She will also be responsible for the continual development of our UK onshore investments platform, which was established last year when RBC Wealth Managements UK Domestic business was launched.
Kevin Flanagan, Head of Investments for RBC Wealth Managements international division, added: Over the past year we have ramped up our investment offering to clients, and have appointed a dedicated investment strategist responsible for making short-term tactical asset allocation calls to take advantage of market volatility, as well as FX and structured products specialists. This very much complements our managed architecture discretionary offering, which takes a longer term approach to investments.
On the advisory side, we have seen an increase in demand from private clients for structured products – a trend we think is likely to continue.
This latest hire reflects our continued dedication to building out our British Isles onshore and offshore capabilities and to providing our clients with sound investment advice and access to a broad suite of funds, products and other investment vehicles.
