RBC Investor & Treasury Services (I&TS) has hired Erik Morgan as its new global head of due diligence from JP Morgan.

Morgan joins after serving six years at the US bank as an executive director for wholesale client onboarding, where he helped establish its quality assurance programme and re-engineered its KYC (know your client) due diligence practices.

His previous jobs include other due diligence and KYC roles at investment banks including Barclays, Goldman Sachs and Societe Generale.

Based in London, Morgan will report jointly to Andrea Horton, global head of governance & regulatory solutions and Joanna Meager, global head of client operations.

“Erik’s wealth of experience in this area will benefit RBC I&TS greatly in our efforts to enhance all client due diligence activities across the business, and develop client-centric solutions,” said Horton.

RBC has been active in adding experienced industry names to its ranks throughout the past 12 months.

The custodian hired Marian Azer as head of I&TS product management for Asia-Pacific and chief operating officer, global client coverage, for Australia.

His appointment swiftly followed the addition of industry veteran David Brown from JP Morgan to lead client coverage across Australia.

The custodian also added Pat Sanderson as head of global client coverage in the UK from JP Morgan, and Hong Paterson to lead global client coverage in Singapore.
