RBC Investor Services (RBC IS) has made two senior hires within its Client Solutions group.
Germain Birgen has been appointed head of Client Solutions for Europe (excluding Luxembourg), and Richard Clarke joins as head of Client Design. Both will report to Tim Wood, head of Client Solutions globally.
Birgen previously was managing director for HSBC Securities Services in Luxembourg. There, he launched and headed up the Fund Solutions division and the firms Islamic securities services proposition. He also created, launched and chairs the MENA and Islamic Finance committee of the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI).
At RBC IS, Birgen will be based in Luxembourg and lead Client Solutions teams throughout Europe. He will be responsible for delivering integrated solutions to support clients, executing all client transitions activity, service management and end-to-end delivery of client change projects.
Meanwhile, Clarke previously was senior vice president for Strategic Solutions at Brown Brothers Harriman, where he was also a member of the Management Team for the Financial Institutions business and a member of the BBH London Executive Committee. He has also held senior roles at Citigroup.
The extensive expertise both Germain and Richard bring with them, along with their standing and reputation in the industry, will significantly contribute to providing our clients with creative and customized service solutions to help them achieve their ambitions, Wood says.
RBC IS Client Solutions division consults with new and existing clients, managing the service offering, process optimization and agreed metrics on a global basis. The division has teams in 12 countries.
