RBC Investor & Treasury Services has appointed Pascal Thorens as managing director Switzerland.
His responsibilities include business development and regulatory relationships as well as overall management of RBC Investor and Treasury Services’ activities in the country.
Thorens takes over from Marco Siero, who after almost four years in Switzerland, will relocate to Luxembourg to take up new responsibilities for client service and the development and implementation of solutions for new and existing clients across Europe.
Thorens joins RBC Investor & Treasury Services was most recently at Clariden Leu Asset Management where he was head of sales and distribution and member of the asset management executive committee. Prior to this, Thorens held a number of senior roles in Nordea, Credit Suisse and UBS, bringing significant experience in asset management product design, distribution and business development.
Based in Zurich, he will report to Sébastien Danloy, managing director, Continental Europe & Offshore, who comments: “Developing the reach of our cross-border distribution and fund administration services in Switzerland is a key part of our European activity. Pascal’s considerable experience in the industry, together with the depth of his relationships with asset managers, will greatly benefit our service and value proposition for institutional clients across the region.”
