RBC Global Services has named Simon Shapland, regional vice-president, Europe & Middle East, to head up the sales and relationship management group in London, Dubai and Luxembourg, responsible for driving forward RBC’s European strategy.
“With 20 years of experience, Simon’s strong leadership style, his extensive sales and relationship management skills, along with his comprehensive understanding of the securities industry, make him perfectly suited for his new role. This appointment further strengthens RBC’s commitment to deliver a superior client service experience and he will be a valuable addition to our team,” said Tony Johnson, vice-president, Global Head Sales and Relationship Management, RBC Global Services.
For the past seven years, Shapland worked at ABN Amro Mellon as first vice-president, regional sales and marketing manager. He also held the position of senior vice-president, head of Europe Sales for BISYS Investment Services. Prior to joining the securities and fund administration industry, Shapland spent 13 years in sales and relationship management roles in the IT industry.
