RBC Capital Markets, the corporate and investment banking arm of Royal Bank of Canada, has hired Tim Harvey as Director and Head of Cash Equities Trading in its London office.
Harvey joins RBC Capital Markets from Credit Suisse, where he worked for over 11 years, most recently as Managing Director and Head of European Marketing to hedge funds and institutions. Harvey was previously at DLJ London and Wood Gundy.
Tims arrival in our European team demonstrates RBCs commitment to building out its European Cash Equities business and to growing its capital markets business by continuing to hire top talent, says Stephen Foss, managing director & head of European equities at RBC Capital Markets. Were able to do this because of the strength and stability of our enterprise and we are delighted to welcome an experienced industry figure, such as Tim, to RBC.
Harvey will work closely with RBCs Global Equities and Global Prime Services businesses, including the 11 strong London team hired from Bear Stearns, in September 2008, whose remit is to bolster the proactive build-out of RBCs US Cash Equities business by leveraging off its well-established U.S. research and trading flows, emanating from its North American offices. RBC provides full coverage, advice and U.S. equity products to RBCs European institutional and hedge fund clients, particularly in the UK, France, Italy, Germany and Switzerland.
