Royal Bank of Canada appoints Jim Pettigrew as Non-Executive Director of Royal Bank of Canada Europe Limited, its European subsidiary, headquartered in London.

Pettigrew is a well-known City figure and, in addition to his non-executive directorship at RBC, holds non-executive directorships at Hermes and the Edinburgh Investment Trust Plc. Over the last two decades, Pettigrew has held the positions of CEO at CMC Markets plc, COO at Ashmore Group plc, Group Finance Director at ICAP plc, the worlds biggest inter-broker dealer, and Group Treasurer and Deputy Group Finance Director at Sedgwick Group plc. Pettigrew studied law and is a qualified chartered accountant and a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.

Jim brings to RBC a first class track record in financial services and a wealth of experience gained over 20 years in the City, says John Roberts, non-executive chairman of Royal Bank of Canada Europe Limited. Jim has been credited with the growth and profitability of a number of leading companies and his appointment significantly enhances RBCs European board.
