RBC, with a corporate donation of 100,000, will be the title sponsor of the 5th Annual Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC RBC Race for the Kids – part of Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play on Saturday, 26 September in Riverside Park, New York City.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City (BigsNYC) is America’s oldest mentoring agency. The day’s festivities include a 4K Race/Fun Walk, food, entertainment provided by Nickelodeon, special VIP guests, face painting and games. In addition to RBC, other key partners in promoting healthy lifestyles for today’s youth include: Nickelodeon, which is using this event as the NYC headquarters of its Worldwide Day of Play, and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation.
“We are grateful to RBC for this incredible donation which will help us assist so many youth,” says Michael A. Corriero, executive director, Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC. “RBC’s generosity is a prime example of a member of the banking community using their continued strength and stability to help a 105 year-old not-for-profit empower children to reach goals of college and a career.”
“Community involvement is an important part of the culture at RBC, and we strive to strengthen our relationships with our local communities through giving programs, volunteerism and charitable sponsorships,” says Mark Standish, president and Co-CEO of RBC Capital Markets. “This commitment to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC signifies our growing strength and presence in the New York banking community and the importance we place on contributing to the lives of New Yorkers.”
“As we enter our fourth year as a sponsor of the Race for the Kids, we are thrilled to announce this deeper commitment to further enhance our partnership with such an influential community organization as Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC,” says Rich Franchella, senior managing director, Private Client Group, RBC Wealth Management. “RBC is dedicated to being a strong corporate partner and giving back to the communities where our employees and clients work and live.” Franchella also serves as the Event Chair of Big Brother Big Sisters of NYC RBC Race for the Kids.
