Unicredit announces the nomination of Radek Ignatowicz to the board of directors of National Depository for Securities (Krajowy Depozyt Papierów Wartościowych S.A. – KDPW). Radek was nominated to the position of COO of the Polish Central Depository. The nomination was approved by the NDS Supervisory Board on 16 June 2008.

Radek in his role as the chairman of Polish Custodian Banks board co-operated with market regulators and Polish infrastructure for many years gaining recognition for his efforts. “I am delighted to have one of my Steering Committee members being considered for such a prestigious and influential role in Poland. In the same time I regret that due to the Polish regulations Radek will not be able to combine his new role as board member of KDPW with his current position as Bank Pekao SA Custody Head,” says Michael Aschauer, managing director, Unicredit.

Radek will assume his new responsibilities in October of this year. Until than he remains as Head of Custody in Poland. The succession scenario will be provided in due course.
