Rabobank International, a branch of The Netherlands-headquartered Rabobank Group, today announced the hiring of Ronald M. Grobeck as managing director.

Based in New York, Grobeck will be responsible for the overall management of Rabobank’s corporate CDO fund vehicles, including portfolio management, trading, structuring, analytics, and operations. He will report to Sheldon Sussman, global head of Structuring and Portfolio Management, Global Financial Markets.

Sussman states, “We are delighted that Ron will be joining Rabobank to oversee the corporate portfolio management business. His fund management background positions us well to continue our growth in CDO Funds and alternative investment vehicles.”

Grobeck joins Rabobank International from the Carlyle Group, where he was a Managing Director and head of marketing and investor relations in the Leveraged Finance Group. He formerly held positions with Fischer Francis Trees & Watts, Inc. and JP Morgan & Co. Incorporated. Mr. Grobeck has a B.A. in Economics from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business.

Rabobank International is a major participant in the CDO business with over 20 professionals with experience in trading and investing in corporate debt, asset-backed securities, CDOs and other structured, credit-based securities. Rabobank currently manages $17.4 billion in 25 CDO funds and other structured rated investment vehicles.
