Boston-based securities trading firm Pulse Trading, Inc. has opened a regional office and trading room in Dallas to expand its network to Texas and the Southwest.

Vincent LaPietra, Erica W. McCrary, and Louis Matrone have each been appointed Senior Vice President, Institutional Sales. They will manage the Dallas office jointly, reporting to Michael McCauley, President of Pulse Trading.

In addition to the new Dallas office, Pulse Trading has regional offices in Chicago, New York City and San Francisco. “Despite all the advances in technology, we still do a better job of trading for our institutional

clients when we can get to know them locally and meet on a regular basis,” Mr. McCauley commented. “This approach has worked well in Boston and our other regional offices, and we are confident that our Dallas office will have similar success.”

LaPietra joined Pulse Trading from Jefferies & Co., Dallas, where he was a Vice President and Nasdaq market maker focusing on retail stocks. Prior to Jefferies, he was with Lehman Brothers and Wasserstein Perella Securities, Inc. in New York. Mr. LaPietra is a graduate of Duke University with a B.A. in Political Science.

Ms. McCrary was Vice President and Senior Equity Trader at Capital Institutional Services, Inc., Dallas, for five years before joining Pulse Trading. Her experience also includes the Dallas trading desk at Lehman Brothers. She graduated from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University with a B.B.A. in Finance.

Prior to joining Pulse Trading, Mr. Matrone was Vice President and head of OTC trading at Southwest Securities, Inc., Dallas, where he started in 1998 as an equity trader. He was previously at Dain Rauscher in Dallas. Active in securities industry affairs, Mr. Matrone is a member of the Board of Governors of the Security Traders Association (STA), and a past President of the Dallas affiliate. He is a graduate of Mercy College, N.Y., with a B.S. in Business Administration.
