According to local media reports, the ruling party Civic Platform (PO) plans to abolish the capital gains tax for foreign investment companies. In the weeks to come, PO wants to force the necessary amendment to the Act on Tax on civil law transactions in the Polish Parliament. Foreign companies buying securities for further resale purposes would not pay capital gains tax from sale transactions then. Members of the Parliament also hope that making the taxation less complex will encourage foreign investors activity and increase turnover on Warsaw Stock Exchange.
