PLUS Markets Group plans to take legal action against the London Stock Exchange over its rules on AIM trading, which PLUS claims have “the effect of preventing trading in AIM securities on markets other than the LSE,” according to PLUS and The Financial Times.
PLUS, a regulated investment exchange approved by the Financial Services Authority last year, claims the rule that requires trades not conducted on the LSE to be reported to the London exchange constitute “an abuse of the LSE’s dominant market position.”
We believe investors should be able to benefit from a competitive trading environment in AIM stocks in exactly the same way they are now benefiting from competition in the listed securities markets,” says Jamie Whitehorn, PLUS Markets general counsel.
