April saw over 1 million trades concluded on PLUS Markets – the new stock exchange for London. This is a new monthly record and represents a 168.95% increase on the same month in 2008. Trade value was also at an all time record of GBP6.439 billion, up 105.63% on last April, with volumes soaring to a record 7.7 billion, up 296.37% from last year.
PLUS continues to attract gains in trading volumes month by month with April recording average daily trades at 47,639.
While the exchange continues to command market share strength in the small and mid-caps, PLUS is also active in the large-caps. It attracted 30% market share by value in Royal Bank of Scotland trading.
