After nine months on BNP Paribas Securities Services’ executive committee José Placido has officially become global head of client development. He shared the role with Charles Cock over a transition period which began when Placido joined the bank in April 2014.
Placido is now in charge of BNP Paribas’ regions, relationship management, client service, business development, marketing and communications. In this strategic role, Placido will also develop a “global best-in-class relationship management team”, as well as a service model to ensure a consistent client experience, worldwide.
Cock, formerly head of client development, becomes vice chairman-International, dedicated to strengthening the bank’s strategic relationships with key client decision-makers. Cock has led the BNP Paribas’ client development team for the last 20 years.
Placido and Cock will report to chief executive officer Patrick Colle and will be members of the executive team.
An email from Colle, titled “Client development management changes”, introduced the changes by drawing attention to “unprecedented regulatory and industry changes” and the need for a realignment of resources to be more responsive to clients’ changing needs.
