APS Asset Management Pte Ltd has named Pieter van Putten as Managing Director. Van Putten will join APS on December 1. He was formerly Chief Executive Officer of Morley Management Singapore Ltd., Singapore. Prior to that, van Putten held various senior appointments in asset management, international capital management as well as business development and client relations.

Van Putten, a Dutch national, obtained his Bachelor and Master of Business Administration degrees from the Nijenrode University, Breukelen, Netherlands. He is 40 years old and married with three children. He is fluent in Dutch, English, German and French.

According to Wong Kok Hoi, Chairman of APS, he had started looking for a managing director for APS more than a year ago, especially when assets under management had grown substantially large following the award of more mandates from overseas institutional pension funds. The size of the assets under management currently stands at USD$1.6 billion. With the appointment of van Putten, Wong who is also Chief Investment Officer of APS, can now devote more time and effort to investment APS has also grown in size since its establishment in 1995. It now has 34 employees in its offices in Singapore, Tokyo, Shanghai and New York.
