BNP Paribas Securities Services has appointed Peter Townsend as Head of Operations for BNP Paribas Fund Services (BPFS) in Dublin. Townsend joined BNP Paribas on 11 July and reports locally to Paul Daly, Head of Location for BNP Paribas Securities Services Dublin, and globally to Philippe Ricard, Head of Fund Services Operations. In his new role at BNP Paribas, Townsend will be responsible for the continuous improvement and development of operations, in line with both the strategic aims of the business and the evolution of best practice.
He joins BNP Paribas after six year at BISYS Hedge Fund Services Ltd. in Bermuda, where he was Vice President of Implementation Management. In this role he managed the implementation of new and existing clients, ran multiple ongoing conversion projects and was project manager for the high-risk conversion team built to convert BISYS’ more complex hedge funds. Prior to that, Townsend worked for Fidelity Investments.

Peter Townsend’s new role coincides with two other internal changes. Paul Daly has been appointed as Head of Location for BNP Paribas Securities Services in Ireland having been Head of Sales & Relationship Management since February 2001. He replaces Frank Roden who will be moving to Luxembourg in August to take up the role of Global Product Head for Transfer Agency and Retail.
