State Street announced today that Peter Sullivan has been appointed Managing Director and Head of State Street’s Global Equity Research team. Sullivan will be based in London, where he will focus on providing investment research on the Global and European equity sectors to institutional clients worldwide. He will report directly to Avinash Persaud, Managing Director and Global Head of Research, State Street Global Markets.

Sullivan has more than 12 years experience providing investment research and advice on European equities to leading institutional clients worldwide. He joins State Street from Goldman Sachs, where he was a senior European equity strategist. At Goldman Sachs, Sullivan was co-head of the European equity strategy team. Before joining Goldman Sachs, Sullivan was a European equity strategist at Merrill Lynch.

“We are pleased to welcome Peter to our global research team. His extensive experience in creating and marketing sophisticated equity research to institutional clients across the globe will be invaluable to the extension of our pioneering work on the impact of investor behaviour to the European equity markets,” said Persaud.

Sullivan’s appointment is the latest addition to State Street’s global equity team, and reflects the Company’s commitment to building high-quality teams of experienced professionals dedicated to providing clients with innovative and insightful investment strategies. In July and August, State Street announced the appointments of three additions to its global equity group by naming Justin Shinebourne as Managing Director and Head of the Equity Sales in Europe, Patricia Anne Geyer as Managing Director and Head of Equity Research Sales in the US, and Russ Koesterich as Head of US equity research.
