The Bank of New York has appointed Paul Traynor to the role of client executive in London. He joins as managing director and client executive for UK investment managers from IBM Consulting. He will be based in London, and will report to Ian Hards, head of UK fund managers.

Traynor joins from IBM Consulting where he had responsibility for UK investment management consulting following the merger of the consulting businesses of PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and IBM.

“The Bank of New York is a unique organisation with an outstanding future,” says Traynor. “The capabilities of the Bank are the most comprehensive and evolved in the industry. I am pleased to be joining to help further grow the capability in Europe under the new management team.”

Ian Hards, Head of UK fund managers, The Bank of New York, says the outsourcing needs of the European fund management industry are becoming increasingly demanding and complex. “We are responding to this challenge by building a team of senior client executives with in-depth, practical knowledge of our clients’ businesses who can provide strategic advice at the highest level,” he says. “The appointment of Paul demonstrates our ongoing commitment to our clients.”
